W I N T E R S I G H T26 moons | She-cat | Skyclan | Medicine Cat "So cradle your head in your hands...and breathe....just breathe...."
Small tabby she-cat with a scarred face and duel eyes of yellow and silver.
''APPEARANCE;; Wintersight was once the most beautiful she-cat in her clan. Her pelt is a light brown the color of milky chocolate, dappled along her back and tail with black fur. Typical black tabby markings cover her legs and head. Snow white fur dusts the tip of her muzzle and flows down her chest and belly, showing up again as three odd white stripes at the tip of her tail. She has long flowing white whiskers, brought out more by the light fur surrounding her eyes and striping her cheeks. Before her accident both of her eyes where a brilliant mix of stunning yellow and fiery orange, but now only her right eye remains the same. Her left eye is a cold silver, having lost it's pigment after the injury. Long thin scars also surround this eye as if an exotic tattoo.
''PERSONALITY;; Outwardly; Wintersight is gentle and loving toward her clanmates. She moves with graceful elegance and seems to carry a mist of calming energy wherever she goes. She is the one cats come to with their problems, knowing she would rather die than betray their secrets to others. She has a talent for settling disputes peacefully and can usually befriend even the most mean or disconnected of cats. Because of this she holds great respect in her clan and has very few enemies. If she asks you to do something, you do it. No questions asked. She is far wiser than her years and sees the world in a unique way, often finding meaning in small things others would miss. Which helps her greatly as a medicine cat even though she is very young for the title.
Internally; But this tells a different story. Wintersight isn't really as innocent and pure as she seems to others. Her mind is in constant turmoil between good and evil. She often catches herself wondering how it would feel to slash the throat of a clanmate, or drown a defenseless kit. These thoughts terrify her, and she always fears that one day she may lose herself to them. She often considers the thought that she may have another spirit inside her own, a dark one. The drastic difference between the right and left side of her face only strengthens this belief. She hears whispers of evil and her nights are broken by nightmares. But so far she and her darkside are at a stalemate, and there isn't an end in sight.
''HISTORY;;
''KIT LIFE;; Winterkit was born to a small gentle she-cat named Finchsong, at the time she never knew who her father was. She and her two siblings were inseparable. The three caused trouble wherever they went, led by her brother Larkkit. Winterkit dreamed of becoming leader of her clan and often bickered with her brother who also wanted to be a leader. Meanwhile her sister, Dewkit, remained set on becoming the medicine cat and smartly staid out of it. As they grew older competition between Winterkit and her brother grew until they seemed to be wrestling around the camp constantly, neither of them backing down yet both to equally matched to really win. One day their exasperated mother had finally had enough, Wintersight remembers the day the quiet softspoken queen had marched up to the bickering pair and gave a loud screech that silenced everybody in the clearing, including the two feisty kits. Finchsong then snatched Larkkit up by the scruff of the neck and tumbled him into the corner, batting Winterkit over to the opposite corner. Her mother's yowl could be heard clear across camp when she demanded the kits not move an inch until she came back for them, and with that she disappeared into the nursery with little Dewkit. The two never fought since.
''APPRENTICE;; As an apprentice her ambitions only grew. Winterpaw was given a strong and noble mentor named Hazestorm, but the tom seemed annoyed from the beginning that he was given a small she-cat as an apprentice. No matter how hard she fought or how quickly she learned new moves it never seemed enough for him. She was advancing the quickest out of the apprentices and even won battles with apprentices much older and bigger than her, yet he still withheld any praise or good words. One day a patrol reported fox tracks in the area, and while their leader was organizing a patrol to chase it off Winterpaw saw her chance. She would prove to Hazestorm how strong she was. She convinced Dewpaw to come with her and the two of them stuck out of camp and raced to where the patrol mentioned the tracks, there they followed them to it's den. To determined to back down, Winterpaw crept closer to the den and mewed inside. Waiting tensed and ready to run at the first sign it had heard. Soon enough scratching echoed from within the den and a large male fox appeared with a snarl, far larger than she had expected. Immediately the two apprentices turned tail and fled, racing towards the border in hopes of leading the fox away. But it was not only larger than she'd expected but faster, and quickly gaining ground. Panic stricken Winterpaw pushed herself harder until she reached the far border leading out of the clans territories, but before she could think of what to do next the fox slammed into her and sent her careening off across the border and into an old twoleg post. Searing pain shot across her face and she yowled in agony as she struggled to see. Blood flowed into her left eye and she tried to wipe it away but as she moved pain flashed across her left forepaw as well. She looked down with her good eye and froze, silver two-leg wire wrapped around her leg and laid in heaps around her. The wire was laced with thin razor-sharp shards of the same shiny material, which now bit into her skin. She was trapped and couldn't move, and as she looked up the fox was slowly advancing. But that wasn't what turned her blood cold. A limp mousy grey and white body laid off to her right, it's head cocked at an unnatural angle. Dewpaw. The fox had caught up with her sister after slamming Winterpaw into the razor-wire. All seemed lost until suddenly a yowl broke through the air and a patrol leaped to her rescue, attacking the fox and driving it past her and off into the woods outside of their territory. Winterpaw sank down miserably as the patrol approached, wincing at the looks of shock and horror on her clan-mates faces. Among them where Hazestorm and Finchsong. The look on her mother's face when she noticed Dewpaw has haunted her ever since. The queen cried in anguish and raced to her kit, licking her fiercely as if she could fix the apprentice's broken neck. Winterpaw sank as low as she could in the wire and winced as her tears stung the left side of her face. Wishing it had been her instead of her sweet sister. Slowly her mentor and another tom untangled her from the wire and carried her back to the camp where she spent two moons recovering from her injuries. At first, she was blind in her left eye, but as the moons passed she slowly gained back her vision somewhat. But she could only see in black and white, as if to show this her eye also lost it's beautiful color and turned a cold silver. It became apparent her sight inhibited her greatly in her training and soon even she had become discouraged. She stopped training and stopped eating, content with wasting away until she joined her sister. Her dreams of being a leader where broken, and worse yet, she had taken her sisters life and dreams as well. But her story did not end there. One day the medicine cat came to her and sat with her. He talked of taking her in as his apprentice, and that she could still help the clan by taking a different path. When she seemed reluctant he said the words that has followed her to this day. "Your sister isn't here to live her dream, but you can live it for her. Don't you want to make things right again?" With that, she entered the life of a medicine cat apprentice.
''WARRIOR;; Winterpaw had been only 22 moons when a great burden was placed upon her. One night at the half moon gathering her mentor spoke to her. He told her that his time was soon, and this was her last gathering arriving as an apprentice. There he gave her the name she is known by today, Wintersight. She learned everything he had to teach with a growing intensity, his words not lost on her. Until one day a moon later her mentor was found dead along the border, killed by a passing fox. Wintersight became the sole Medicine Cat of her clan and took the responsibilities heavily. She matured quickly and soon grew wise beyond her years. Honoring the tom that had saved her life and given her a reason to live.
''RP EX;; Second bio.
